Jonno and Sharna found this little guy under an old truck tire - he was the only snake we found in a 5 day, 5500km trip!

Educational Reptile Displays was started by good friends Jonno Lucas and Sharna Klein in May 2006. They had previously worked together at Australia's biggest collection of venomous snakes, Venom Supplies Pty Ltd, and had decided that they needed a change of environment and a bit of an adventure...so they decided to sell up and move to Jonno's home town of Brisbane.

As their lives went in different directions, it was amicably decided that Jonno would become the sole operator of ERD. Sharna is still a big part of the business, and you will see her at most of ERD's multi-day shows and our Venomous Snake Handling Courses.

The aim for ERD is to deliver exciting yet educational learning opportunities to the public. ERD shies away from the over-the-top showman style displays, yet still manage to attract the biggest crowds wherever we go! We have had repeat bookings from every show society we have worked with.

ERD maintains a private zoo of over 300 animals. They include Pythons, Venomous Snakes, Colubrids, File Snakes, Crocodiles, Turtles, Skinks, Dragons, Monitors, Geckos, Legless Lizards, Birds and Mammals! Some of the rarer species kept include Speckled Brown Snakes, Squirrel Gliders and Perenties.

Despite the impressive collection of animals and highly experienced staff, ERD still manage to cater for even the smallest of jobs - whether it be a half an hour show for a local scout group, or an exciting birthday party for your kids, ERD will be there!

ERD has all the relevant permits, including our Demonstrators Permit, Damage Mitigation Permit and Recreational Wildlife (Specialist) permit. ERD is also authorised to collect venomous snakes on behalf of Venom Supplies and Melbourne University. ERD has full $10,000,000 public liability insurance, current senior First Aid Certificates, "Working with Children" Blue Cards and all relevant police clearances.
